My Background

I’m a licensed psychotherapist with a private practice in Manhattan Beach. My office is in the Manhattan Beach Towers, on the Rosecrans corridor off the 405.

I received my formal training in counseling psychology at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, with additional training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Family Service Agency of Marin, also in northern California. After working at a family mental health clinic in Long Beach and then a group private practice in Beverly Hills, I opened my practice in Manhattan Beach, where I am today.

I’ve always been a psychologically-minded person. As a child I would notice how our thoughts and feelings can make life more complicated than it need be. As an adult, while getting my PhD in political psychology and theory at the University of California at Berkeley, I became fascinated with the field of psychoanalysis, which ultimately led to my present career as a practicing psychotherapist.

I’ve lived on four continents and both coasts of the United States, and I can relate to lots of different experiences. I enjoy humor and laughter, both of which show up in my work.
